Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, just ask us directly.

Results & Timelines

How long does SEO take to work? expand_more

Real answer: 3–6 months to see early movement, 9–12 months for material results, 18–24 months for true compounding. Anyone promising faster is either lying or doing something Google will eventually punish you for. We'll show you leading indicators from month one so you're never flying blind.

What if we don't see results? expand_more

We'll show you the leading indicators (impressions, keyword movement, crawled pages, link velocity) every month. If those aren't moving by month 4, we'll have a frank conversation about what's wrong and what to do about it. We don't hide behind vanity metrics.

Can you guarantee #1 rankings? expand_more

No, and you should run from any agency that does. Google's terms explicitly prohibit ranking guarantees, and no one controls Google's algorithm. What we can guarantee: transparent reporting, consistent delivery and a frank conversation if things aren't working.

Pricing & Contracts

How much does SEO cost? expand_more

Our entry point is around $1,490/month for local businesses. Most clients sit between $2,990 and $5,990/month. Anything below $1,000/month in Australia is almost certainly buying you nothing of value, because the economics of doing the work properly don't hold at that price point.

Do you lock clients into long contracts? expand_more

No. We bill month-to-month. We earn the next month by delivering in this one. The longest commitment we'll ever ask for is a 3-month onboarding to get the foundation right, and even that's just so we can do the work properly, not to lock you in.

How We Work

What's the difference between SEO and content marketing? expand_more

SEO is the strategy and technical optimisation. Content marketing is the execution at the page level. They're inseparable in practice: you can't rank without content, and content without SEO is just blogging into the void. We do both as one integrated service.

Do you outsource overseas? expand_more

No. All strategy and writing is done in Australia by senior practitioners. We occasionally use specialist contractors (for example, a developer for a specific technical fix), but never your account management or content creation.

Will I be working with the founder, or an account manager? expand_more

Senior strategists own every account. We're deliberately small so we don't have the "great salesperson, junior delivery" problem that plagues most agencies. You'll deal with the same person from strategy call to monthly report.

Do you use AI to write content? expand_more

Not for drafting. We use AI as a research and editing assistant, the same way a good writer uses Grammarly or a developer uses Copilot. The judgement, voice and accuracy are all human. Google rewards E-E-A-T; generic AI output doesn't have it.

Strategy & Scope

Do you work with businesses outside Australia? expand_more

Occasionally, but our focus is Australian businesses. The .au domain, AEST hours and on-the-ground market knowledge are part of what makes us valuable. We're not trying to be a global agency.

Can you help with Google Ads? expand_more

We focus on SEO and content. We've got trusted PPC partners we refer to and we'll happily coordinate with whoever runs your paid media, but we won't do it ourselves. You're better served by people who live and breathe paid.

What is topical authority and why do you keep mentioning it? expand_more

Topical authority is Google's measure of how comprehensively and credibly your site covers a subject. It's the difference between a site Google trusts as an expert on a topic and a site that happens to have one good page. We believe it's the most durable SEO strategy available, which is why it underpins everything we do.
